Label printing. The very sound of it can lead you to think of boring stickers and official labels. You might want to know however that label printing can be made fun, especially if you want to create custom labels of your own. You do not need to follow the rules of label printing if you do not want to. So, for a more modern and fun way to print custom labels, I have a few great tips for you.
- Think about new type fonts – Label printing does not necessarily mean using boring old font styles like “times new roman” or any other common fonts. You can be creative a bit with your fonts and choose something that is quite unique. I don't mean however that you should choose fonts that are wacky and almost unintelligible. I only mean that you should try out new kinds of readable fonts that are not usually used. A few classic Greek styles, or “Book printing” styles can sometimes look different and interesting enough for a label to stand out. There are many free fonts to choose from in the Internet so explore your options and choose something that peaks your interest.
- Breaking the rectangle shape – Another fun way to do labels is to just break the rules of using the usual rectangular labels. There is actually no rule that says that all labels should be in rectangular stickers. Rectangles are just more commonly used since it is the most efficient way to print labels. However, you can try out different kinds of shapes and sizes in your labels. Try using circle labels, or triangle labels. Why not try to use oblong, trapezoidal or diamond shapes as well? You can have fun with these different label printing shapes and get your labels more noticed by people. Be it for personal or for official purposes, those labels will do their job even better since that are more noticeable.
- Adding reflective substances – You can also try adding reflective substances or features in your labels to get people's attention and have fun with their design. Besides glittering inks and shiny paper stocks, you can also embed actual reflectors in your labels that really shine when hit with light. This makes for a good color label, especially when you want to produce warning or notice labels for your home or at the office.
- Using full color images – Finally, all labels with full color images are fun. Whatever your image is, people will always respond and stare at a full color image when they get printed on labels. They make labels interesting and sometimes, those full color images themselves can convey the label message far better than mere text can. So have fun with full color images to alert and entertain people. Use cartoons to illustrate points and symbols to quickly inform people of important things.
So as you can see, there is plenty of fun to be had in printing labels. Make your own labels just as fun now! Kate Manheaven
